The best things in life aren't always free - as the old adage goes - and free certainly doesn't mean best in the case of free music download software Limewire. Not only is the means by which music files are shared open to some serious question regarding usage and copyright it also reputedly opens up computer systems to a plethora of nasty infections that aren't easy to shake off.

Usability is reported as poor with Limewire with music download files often taking an age to download or simply not downloading altogether. And there are citations of the software itself suddenly not working, which means that users have to remove the program, pick themselves up and start all over again with a completely new installation. Quite why this might be is open to conjecture, but whatever the reason it hardly makes for ease of use or convenience for the end user.

Those who have for inexplicable reasons stuck with the infuriatingly bad Limewire will be aware that it carries the 'Bill Clinton' virus. An audio file in which an impersonator of the ex-US president is heard to state his case about 'not' having relations with Monica Lewinsky!

Amusing though this cameo performance might be, it's annoying if you were trying to download something by the Kings of Leon! While Limewire’s search facility seems to give the user the option to choose from hundreds of downloads, the truth is that the majority of these will be substandard quality, possibly illegal and very likely viral.

You're better of using Free Music Sites like Mp3 Torrent instead.
