Family Music Songs

Everything starts with the family. We discover the essential things in life from them. That's why we can easily relate to topics concerning the family and its members.

Despite the closeness of the topic to our hearts, we don't notice other things that talk about the family... in a creative and artistic way. In other words, we don't see or hear the beauty of family songs.

These songs are, of course, family-oriented because they deal with family matters and certain topics that we might be not aware of. Their aim is not to bring out the adversities in the family but to give emphasis on the positive side of issues.

One example would have to be Lindsay Lohan's "Confessions of a Broken Heart," from her sophomore album "A Little More Personal". Released in 2005, the song and the video produced numerous controversies including the topic sensitivity brought by Lohan's revelation of her father's outrage. According to her, she made both releases so that her father can see the good message of the song and the video rather than the downbeat side.

Others do not necessarily have to deal with family problems. One song would be "Butterfly Fly Away," a soundtrack from the movie "Hannah Montana." This song from Miley and Billy Ray Cyrus is a tribute to Hannah's mother. Its guitar accompaniments, melodious singing and insightful lyrics about how Hannah grew up with her mother and how she is currently grieving for her loss, is an instant tearjerker for listeners.

Family songs do not need to be dramatic all the time. Remember Sister Fledges' "We are Family" and its catchy beats? A living proof that the sole presence of your family is something that's worth celebrating for.
