Tempting though it might sound to have access to pretty well every music track you've ever wanted to possess, there are right ways and very wrong ways to go about this on the Internet. Music Download software, Limewire, was initially used by many as a replacement for the now outlawed and unstable WINMX but aside from being questionable in the way that it shares files (copyright issues seem not be addressed here) there are also reports that the Limewire system is decidedly glitchy and temperamental, with a lot of users reporting infected PCs after use.
In addition to questions over the legalities of the use of Limewire's Free music download software, there are also several usability issues. The software itself doesn't behave with stability - with tracks often taking many hours to download fully - unless your equipment has some serious virus protection in place this leaves you very vulnerable, not to mention the fact that it's inconvenient from a user's point of view.
In some cases, Limewire users state that the software seems to go defunct for no reason, requiring complete re-installation, again it's not particularly convenient for the user and considering that there are legal and approved ways to download music from the web, Limewire doesn't do itself any favours by being difficult to use and questionable.
Internet users who want to file share or download free music tracks are better off looking at alternative ways to do this - avoiding the pitfalls and even possible prosecution attached to using Limewire.
